Summary

The Mount Vernon School is seeking a highly motivated and creative Graphic Designer to join our team. As an independent school that prioritizes innovation, inquiry, and impact, we are seeking a candidate who can bring a fresh perspective to our visual communications and create designs that reflect our values and mission. This is a full-time position that requires working collaboratively with our creative team to produce designs that meet the needs of our diverse range of internal clients (admissions and philanthropy teams, athletics, arts, and teaching and learning divisions). This position will report to the Creative Director.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design a high volume of visual assets, including print and digital pieces such as logos, flyers, social media graphics, posters, and other marketing materials.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including teachers, administrators, and staff, to understand the communication needs of the school and develop designs that reflect the schools values and mission.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines and ensure all projects are completed on time.
• Take an iterative approach to design, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to refine designs and ensure they meet the needs of the School community.
• Ensure all designs are consistent with the Schools brand guidelines and visual identity.
• Stay up-to-date with current design trends, tools, and techniques to continuously push the brand forward.

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on print and digital media (will consider a recent design grad with a strong portfolio )
• Proficiencient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with fast turnaround times while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and quality.
• A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of high-quality design work.
• Knowledge of Firey and ability to utilize inhouse printers, cutters and other print production equipment - a plus
• Skilled in Photography - a plus
